BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for baseball, softball, and tennis on Monday. Student-athletes from Augsburg, Bethel, Carleton, Saint Benedict, and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the spring season, team sports (baseball, softball, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (golf and indoor track & field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Baseball Player of the Week

Joey Glampe hit .647 (11-for-17) with a 1.059 slugging percentage in the Oles' 4-1 week, recording a double, two home runs, eight runs scored, and 10 RBI in five games. The senior hit a tie-breaking two-run home run in the sixth inning of 10-5 win in game two of the team's sweep of St. Scholastica on 4/9 before going 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, a home run, three runs scored, and seven RBI in an 18-4 win over Crown the next day. Glampe closed out the week by going 6-for-8 with three runs scored in a split at Saint Mary's on 4/13, including a four-hit, three-run game in a 7-4 game-two victory.

John Solfest tossed a complete-game shutout to give the Royals a 7-0 win in game two at Gustavus on 4/9. Solfest struck out seven, walked two, and scattered three hits across nine innings of work. He has now tossed 18 combined scoreless innings in his last two starts, which included a nine-inning, no-hit no-decision against Saint John's on 4/3.
MIAC Softball Player of the Week

Olivia Tautges batted .611 (11-for-18) with four home runs, 10 RBI, and 11 runs scored in a 5-1 week for the Bennies. Tautges slugged 1.444 and posted an on-base percentage of .696 during the stretch. Tautges hit a home run in four of the six games and added a double against St. Catherine on 4/14 and two more against Macalester on 4/14.
MIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Morgann Paaske went 3-0 with a 0.78 ERA in three starts for the Auggies last week. Paaske totaled 13 strikeouts against two walks and 16 hits in 18.0 innings pitched, with a .246 opponent batting average. She pitched her second shutout of the season on 4/9, striking out two against one walk and six hits in the Auggies' 2-0 game-two win over St. Scholastica. She had five strikeouts against a walk and six hits in Augsburg's 2-1 win over Gustavus on 4/13 and then struck out six against no walks and four hits in 4.0 innings of work in the Auggies' 10-1, five-inning win over Concordia on 4/14.
MIAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Yuv Kataria won twice at No. 1 singles and added a victory at No. 2 doubles as the Knights claimed a pair of conference matches and clinched a spot in the MIAC Playoffs last week. Kataria prevailed in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) atop the singles lineup at Macalester on 4/13. The next day, he finished off an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles against Bethel - in a match that began on 4/10 but was interrupted by rain and finished on 4/14 - before rallying from a set down to win 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) at No. 1 singles.
MIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Mary Hose went 4-0 last week, notching two wins at No. 2 singles and two victories at No. 1 doubles to help the Knights secure a pair of conference wins and a berth in the MIAC Playoffs. Against St. Olaf on 4/10, Hose was part of a doubles rally that earned an 8-3, come-from-behind victory atop the lineup. Hose improved to 10-1 in singles this season after quickly securing a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 2 singles. She went on to be part of an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles against Macalester on 4/13 and followed the doubles victory with a 6-0, 6-2 singles triumph.
