BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for swimming & diving on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Saint John's and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the winter season, team sports (basketball and hockey) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming & diving and indoor track & field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week

Brayden Slavik touched the wall first in the 500- (4:50.34) and 1,000-yard (9:50.11) freestyles as the Johnnies took first place out of five teams on 1/11 at Luther's Sprint Invitational. Slavik currently holds the MIAC’s top time in the 500- (4:34.69), 1,000- (9:37.89) and 1,650-yard (15:54.60) freestyles, as well as the 100-yard backstroke (51.88) and 400-yard individual medley (4:05.58); is second in the 50- (24.44) and 200-yard (1:54.76) backstrokes; and fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.26).
MIAC Men's Diving Athlete of the Week

Eli Grabinski swept the diving events with wins in the 1- and 3-meter boards as the Johnnies finished first out of five teams 1/11 at Luther’s Sprint Invitational. Grabinski scored 268.00 points off the 1-meter board and 282.00 off the 3-meter.

Katie Homme won three individual events to lead the Oles to a 209-51 dual victory over Hamline on 1/11. The sophomore won the 50-yard freestyle (25.21), 100-yard backstroke (1:01.76), and 100-yard individual medley (1:02.79) for the Oles, who improved to 3-1 in conference dual meets this season.

Erica Johnson won both sessions of the 1-meter diving in the Oles dual victory over Hamline on 1/11. Johnson won the first session by nearly 20 points with a score of 162.45 before winning the second by nearly 10 points with a total of 197.00.
