BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for indoor track & field on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Bethel, Gustavus, Macalester, and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Transitioning to the spring season, team sports (basketball, hockey, softball, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (indoor track & field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Tyler Smith ran the 800 meters at the Maverick Premier on 2/14 and placed first with a time of 1:55.21 to set the meet record and rank 29th in NCAA Division III. The following day, Smith set the program record in the 1K at the CSB/SJU Invitational with a time of 2:30.56.
MIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

Max Albertson recorded the MIAC's top mark in the long jump this season with a jump of 7.08 meters (23' 2 3/4") at the Maverick Premier on 2/15. Albertson moved up to second on St. Olaf's all-time list in the event with the mark, which ranks 26th in NCAA Division III this season. Albertson also won the triple jump at the meet with a distance of 13.18 meters (43' 3").

Ariella Rogahn-Press broke program records in the 200 and 400 meters at the Maverick Premier on 2/14. Rogahn-Press finished second in the 400 with a time of 56.22, breaking her previous mark of 56.67. The time currently ranks fifth in NCAA Division III this season. She then clocked a time of 25.23 in the 200, eclipsing her previous record of 25.59 set in January. The time is tied for 17th-best in D-III this season.

Anna Speratos broke the Royals' program record in the weight throw with a toss of 17.31 meters (56' 9.5") at the Stout Quad on 2/14. Speratos surpassed the previous decade-old record of 16.51 meters on four of her six throws. Speratos' toss ranks No. 17 in NCAA Division III this season.
