BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2025 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships are set to begin on Thursday. Twelve women's teams and eleven men's teams from around the MIAC will compete in the three-day meet held Thursday-Saturday at the Donald McNeely Spectrum on the campus of Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and co-hosted by Saint John's University and the College of Saint Benedict.
The MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships are set to begin on Thursday with the multi-event competitions. The women's pentathlon starts at 2:00 p.m. with the men's heptathlon beginning 20 minutes later. The heptathlon finishes on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Friday's field events start at 4:00 p.m. and track events will follow at 4:30 p.m. Saturday's final session starts with field events at noon and track events an hour later. Saturday's final set of events - the men's and women's 4x400 relay - will begin at 3:55 p.m.
FOLLOW THE ACTION
Daily tickets are required to attend the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. All tickets will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at the venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device at any time, including while at the venue. Tickets are available for purchase on the MIAC's HomeTown Ticketing site.
Single-day adult tickets will be $12 and student tickets are $3. (Note: additional HomeTown Ticketing convenience and credit card fees will be added during checkout, with estimated totals being $13.70 for adult / $4.43 for student per single-day ticket.) Children ages five and under do not require a ticket. Those eligible for student tickets include individuals currently enrolled in college, high school, middle school, and elementary school. Student ID is required where applicable.
Two-day passes will also be available. Two-day adult tickets are $27 and two-day student tickets are $9. (Note: multi-day passes include a required $3 HomeTown Ticket multi-day pass fee; additional convenience and credit card fees will be added during checkout, with estimated totals being $28.12 for adult / $9.58 for student per two-day ticket.)
No ticket will be required for Thursday afternoon's pentathlon and heptathlon events. However, tickets will be required for the full days of competition on Friday and Saturday.
The MIAC has a homepage dedicated to the 2025 Indoor Track & Field Championships, complete with the event schedule, entries, heat sheets, and links to follow the action live on the MIAC Sports Network and via real-time results. Results and recaps of the Championships will be made available throughout the event.

HANDING OUT THE HARDWARE
MIAC championship plaques will be presented to the first-place women's and men's teams at the conclusion of the meet on Saturday afternoon. Bethel University has swept both the men's and women's championships each of the last two seasons.
The top three finishers in each event automatically earn All-Conference honors and the 4th-through-6th place finishers will receive Honorable Mention distinction.
Individual awards will be voted on by coaches following the meet and will be announced - along with the complete list of All-Conference and honorable mention recipients - next week.
NATIONAL NOTABLES
Augsburg junior Mohammed Bati (Dodola, Ethiopia | GAP School) ranks ninth in NCAA Division III in the 5000 meters (14:5.33) and 22nd in the 3000 meters (8:18.21).
Bethel senior Jayson Ekiyor (Dayton, Minn. | Providence Academy) has the fourth-best 60-meter hurdle time in Division III this season at 7.93.
Bethel junior Adam Hokanson (Shakopee, Minn.) is 22nd in Division III for the weight throw this season with a distance of 18.05 meters (59' 2.75").
Bethel junior Landen Liu (Blaine, Minn. | Centennial) has the second-fastest 60-meter time in NCAA Division III this season at 6.67.
Bethel graduate student David Myres (Clear Lake, Minn. | Becker) has the 22nd-fastest 60-meter hurdle time (8.18) in Division III this season.
Bethel junior Grant Nelson (Minneapolis, Minn. | Providence Academy) ranks fifth in Division III with a 400-meter time of 48.25. Nelson also has the 14th-fastest 200-meter time in D-III this season at 21.92.
Bethel graduate student Jacob Parent (New Richmond, Wis.) ranks seventh in NCAA Division III in the 200 meters with a time of 21.79. His 400-meter time of 48.67 ranks tenth in D-III.
Carleton junior Gabe Nichols (Grove City, Penn.) ranks 21st in NCAA Division III in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:18.19.
Concordia senior Cooper Folkestad (Wadena, Minn. | Wadena-Deer Creek) has the 12th-best shot put distance in D-III this season at 16.45 meters (53' 11.75").
Hamline sophomore Austin Schloeder (Buffalo, Minn. | Rockford) is tied for 13th in Division III with a pole vault distance of 4.90 meters (16' 0.75").
Macalester senior Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y.) ranks 24th in NCAA Division III with a 400-meter time of 48.99 this season.
Saint John's senior Max Lelwica (Brainerd, Minn.) has the 13th-best heptathlon score in Division III this season at 4836.
Saint John's senior Jackson McDowell (Centennial, Colo. | Arapahoe) is tied for the eighth-best high jump in D-III with a leap of 2.06 meters (6' 9").
St. Olaf junior Kevin Turlington (Rochester, Minn. | Lourdes) is tied for 20th in D-III with a 5K time of 14:23.16 this season.
St. Scholastica senior Trent Beseth (Stanchfield, Minn. | Cambridge-Isanti) has the nation's top shot put distance this season at 18.29 meters (60' 0.25").
St. Scholastica graduate student Calvin Boone (St. Paul, Minn. | Highland Park) has the 17th-fastest mile time in D-III this season at 4:10.93.
St. Scholastica senior Lars Dewall (Stillwater, Minn.) ranks No. 20 in Division III with a mile time of 4:11.56 this season. Dewall also ranks 14th in the 3K with a time of 8:15.68.

Thirteen former individual MIAC champions will be back in action this weekend.
Augsburg junior Mohammed Bati (Dodola, Ethiopia | GAP School) won the MIAC title in the 5K in 2023.
Bethel senior Jayson Ekiyor (Dayton, Minn. | Providence Academy) won the 55-meter hurdles at the 2022 MIAC Championships and the 60-meter hurdles at the 2023 and 2024 MIAC Championships.

AROUND THE MIAC
Augsburg junior Mohammed Bati (Dodola, Ethiopia | GAP School) broke program records on back-to-back days at the St. Olaf College Invitational and Jack Johnson Classic in January. Bati competed in the 5000-meter run at the St. Olaf meet on 1/23, winning the 37-runner event with a 14:15.33 time, breaking his previous record of 14:37.67, set in 2024. The time also set a new St. Olaf facility record and represented a new MIAC all-time indoor record, breaking the previous mark of 14:20.51, set by St. Olaf's Will Kelly in 2024. Bati then set a new school record with an 8:18.21 time in the 3000-meter run on 1/24. Bati broke his previous program mark of 8:24.31, set in 2024.
Bethel junior Landen Liu (Blaine, Minn. | Centennial) won the 60-meter dash at the University of Minnesota's Jack Johnson Classic on 1/24, crossing the finish line in a time of 6.67. That time is the second-fastest in NCAA Division III history. His victory came against a field that included world champion and Olympian Brandon Carnes and Division I All-American Charles Godfred. Liu is the fifth D-III runner to break the 6.70 barrier and now sits .03 seconds shy of the all-time record.
Carleton junior Gabe Nichols (Grove City, Penn.) set a new PR and broke the meet and facility records in the 3000-meter run at the Meet of the Hearts on 2/8. Nichols' time of 8:18.19 broke the Recreation Center record established in 2016 by nearly 1.5 seconds, the meet standard set in 2022 by nearly 2.0 seconds, and his previous personal best by almost 5.0 seconds. He posted a 48-second margin of victory after lapping the entire field before the 2,000-meter mark of the race.
Concordia sophomore Brady Goss (Devils Lake, N.D.) broke the program record in the mile at the Bison Open on 2/7 with a time of 4:12.38. His time is the fifth-fastest in the MIAC since 2018.
Gustavus senior Tyler Smith (Norwood Young America, Minn. | Central) ran the 800 meters at the Maverick Premier on 2/14 and placed first with a time of 1:55.21 to set the meet record. The following day, Smith set the program record in the 1K at the CSB/SJU Invitational with a time of 2:30.56.
Hamline first-year Ricky Kwabena Yawson (Rosemount, Minn.) won the 60-meter dash in 6.91 to set a new program record at the Tostrud Classic on 2/21. He set another record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.41, good for second place at the meet.
Macalester senior Arlo Heitler broke his own program record in the 200 with a time of 22.34 at the Tostrud Classic on 2/21. Heitler surpassed the previous mark by .01 seconds.
Saint John's senior Jackson McDowell (Centennial, Colo. | Arapahoe) won the high jump with a mark of 2.06 meters (6' 9") at the Mark Schuck Open & Multi on 2/1. McDowell is in his second season as a track & field athlete after spending his first two years in Collegeville as a pitcher on the baseball team.
Saint Mary's senior Chris Bulwa (Glenview, Ill. | New Trier) ran the 200 meters in 22.09 at the Pat Healy Classic on 1/25. He has competed in the event twice this winter, winning once and finishing as the runner-up in the other.
St. Olaf sophomore Max Albertson (Hastings, Minn.) recorded the MIAC's top mark in the long jump this season with a jump of 7.08 meters (23' 2 3/4") at the Maverick Premier on 2/15. Albertson moved up to second on St. Olaf's all-time list in the event with the mark. Albertson also won the triple jump at the meet with a distance of 13.18 meters (43' 3").
St. Scholastica senior Trent Beseth (Stanchfield, Minn. | Cambridge-Isanti) set meet, facility, and program records in the shot put at the Tostrud Classic on 2/21 with a mark of 18.29 meters (60' 0.25"). The throw leads NCAA Division III this season and cleared the competition by more than three meters.
