COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Bethel claimed its third consecutive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) men's indoor track & field championship on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville.
The Royals scored 169 points and claimed four individual titles and a pair of relay crowns at the 2025 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
St. Scholastica's Trent Beseth swept the throwing events with wins in both the weight throw and shot put, while Bethel's Grant Nelson set championship records in his victories in the 200 and 400 meters. Nelson was also part of the Royals' victorious 4x200-meter relay.
The MIAC extends its gratitude to the coaches and staffs at Saint John's University and the College of Saint Benedict for their outstanding efforts in hosting the 2025 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

RECORD BREAKERS
Bethel's Landen Liu surpassed his own championship mark in the 60 meters by .02 seconds with a time of 6.74 on Friday.
Bethel's Jayson Ekiyor recorded the first sub-eight-second 60-meter hurdles time in MIAC Championship history with a 7.97.
Bethel's Grant Nelson set a new championship record in the 200 meters (21.71) and 400 meters (48.29). Both marks are also new facility records.
Gustavus' Tyler Smith rewrote the facility mark in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:28.59.
Saint John's distance medley relay team posted a new facillity record with a time of 10:17.48.
Saint John's Jackson McDowell established a new facility record in the high jump with a leap of 2.11 meters (6' 11").
St. Scholastica's Trent Beseth set a new facility record in the shot put with a throw of 17.48 meters (57' 4.25").
HANDING OUT THE HARDWARE
The top three finishers in each event automatically earn All-Conference honors, and the 4th-through-6th place finishers receive Honorable Mention distinction. Individual awards will be voted on by coaches following the meet and will be announced next week.
