BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Another busy weekend awaits Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) track & field teams ahead of the 2025 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Collegeville at the end of the month.

IN THE POLLS
Nine MIAC squads are listed among the top 25 in the North Region of the USTFCCCA's most recent regional rankings, released on Tuesday, February 4. Carleton (No. 6), Gustavus (No. 7), and St. Olaf (No. 10) all landed among the top 10 in the North Region.


NATIONAL NOTABLES
Carleton junior Hannah Preisser (Chapel Hill, N.C. | Carrboro) ranks tenth in NCAA Division III with a time of 17.07.74 in the 5,000-meter run (1/24).

Macalester first-year Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M. | Bosque School) has the fifth-fastest 400-meter time in NCAA Division III this season at 56.67 (1/31).

St. Olaf junior Isabel Wyatt (Minneapolis, Minn. | Southwest) has the seventh-fastest 800-meter time in D-III this season at 2:13.46 (1/18).


AROUND THE MIAC
Augsburg junior Allison Hookom (Andover, Minn. | Anoka) ran a season-best time of 57.86 at the Mark Schuck Open & Multi on 1/31. The time was third-fastest at the meet and is the 12th-best in NCAA Division III this season.

Bethel graduate student Elle Thorson (Red Wing, Minn.) won the pentathlon at the St. Olaf Invitational on 1/24 with a program-record 3,358 points. Thorson’s score is 11th on the NCAA Division III honor roll this season. She set MIAC-leading marks by finishing first in the 60H (9.30) and high jump (1.59 meters, 5’ 2.5"). Thorson also finished first in the shot put with a throw of 10.94 meters (35’ 10.75”).

Carleton junior Hannah Preisser (Chapel Hill, N.C. | Carrboro) won the 5,000-meter run at the St. Olaf Invitational on 1/24 with a time of 17:07.74. Preisser’s time ranks tenth in NCAA Division III this season and is the second-fastest time at that distance for her career.

Concordia junior Kyla Nygaard (Maple Grove, Minn.) set the program record in the 600 meters at the UND Open on 2/1 with a converted time of 1:35.48. Nygaard's time surpassed the previous Cobber mark of 1:37.20 by nearly three seconds.

Gustavus senior Megan Geraets (Mankato, Minn. | East) recorded an indoor personal best in the long jump with a mark of 5.67 meters (18' 7.25") at the Mark Schuck Open & Multi on 2/1. Her mark ranks first in the MIAC, third in the region, and 11th in Division III this season. She also ran a season-best time of 25.30 in the 200-meter, which ranks 11th-fastest in D-III as well.

Hamline senior Lexi Brainer (Lakeville, Minn. | South) won the weight throw competition at the St. Thomas Indoor Invitational on 1/17 with a distance of 16.70 meters (54' 9.5"). The throw ranks 18th in NCAA Division III this season and is fifth all-time in program history.

Macalester first-year Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M. | Bosque School) broke her own program record in the 400 meters at the Mark Schuck Open & Multi on 2/1 with a time of 56.67. The time ranks fifth in NCAA Division III this season. Rogahn-Press also ran a 7.94 in the 60-meter dash, which ranks second on Macalester's all-time performance list. Having set another program mark in the 200 meters at the Vanessa Seljeskog Classic earlier in January, the first-year sprinter has broken a school record in each of her three meets so far this season.

Saint Benedict junior Jaylyn Ahlberg (Shoreview, Minn. | Mounds View) won the pole vault competition in the Bennies' quad meet on 1/31 by posting a vault of 3.38 meters (11' 1"). Ahlberg's improved upon her previous season-best (10' 6") by nearly a foot.

St. Catherine senior Lily Harvey (Rochester, Minn. | Century) finished the 5K in a personal record time of 21:35.98 at the Mark Schuck Open & Multi on 1/31. Harvey's time was good for a sixth-place finish at the meet and was the second-fastest among NCAA Division III participants.

Saint Mary's first-year Zari Young set a program record in her collegiate debut, winning the 60-meter dash in 7.86 at the Ole Opener on 1/18. Young added the 200 meters to her resume at the Warren Bowlus Open & Multi on 1/31, clocking in at 27.93.

St. Olaf junior Isabel Wyatt (Minneapolis, Minn. | Southwest) won the 800 meters by more than three seconds with a time of 2:13.46 at the Ole Opener on 1/18. Wyatt held the fastest time in Division III for a week, while the time remains second on St. Olaf's all-time list.

St. Scholastica sophomore Regan DeWitt (Bemidji, Minn.) has placed among the top three finishers in three different distance races this season. Her time of 5:20.75 in the mile was good for second place at the CSS Opener on 12/14/24; she added another runner-up result in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:05.54 at the Twin Ports Open on 1/18; and she added first and third-place finishes in the 800 meters at the CSB Alumni Meet (2:24.06 on 1/25) and UND Open & Multi (2:23.11 on 2/1).
