NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The 2025 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships got underway on Thursday afternoon at Carleton College with the women's heptathlon and men's decathlon.
Midway through the multi-event competition, Saint John's Max Lelwica leads the men's decathlon with 3,570 points, while Concordia's Jenna Kalevik sits atop the women's heptathlon leaderboard with 2,797 points.
Men's competitors participated in the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400-meter dash on Thursday, while women's entrants competed in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200-meter dash.

Just behind Lelwica in the decathlon standings after Thursday's events is fellow Johnnie Anthony Thurk with 3,385 points, while St. Olaf's Andrew Cogley is third with 3,285. In the heptathlon, Kalevik's Concordia teammate Peyton Selle heads into Day 2 in second place with 2,698 points, with Saint Benedict's Justus Floren in third with 2,675 points.
The multi-event championships will continue on Friday, with the men's decathlon beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the women's heptathlon starting at 12:30 p.m. The rest of the 2025 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship events will take place next Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
