MIAC divers added to list of NCAA Championship qualifiers

INDIANAPOLIS – Three divers from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) punched their tickets to nationals over the weekend, with three more receiving alternate status based on their performances at the NCAA Diving Regionals in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
 
Carleton senior Hans Anderson will represent the MIAC at the NCAA Championships in the men's diving events, while Carleton sophomore Nina Schwab will be joined by Macalester first-year Ainsley Kashatus in the women's diving events.
 
Saint John's senior Cody Watts was named one of three men's alternates from Region 1, with Hailey Westrup of Carleton and Alayna McCormick of St. Olaf earning alternate status among women's divers.
 
Three MIAC swimmers were previously selected compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. Saint Benedict junior Haley Zelen earned the nod in the women's 50 freestyle (23.07), 100 freestyle (50.79), and 100 butterfly (54.10), while Saint John's senior Brayden Slavik qualified in the men's 1,650 freestyle (15:32.16), and Gustavus junior Braden Ripken made the cut in the men's 100 breaststroke (53.76).
 
The 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships will be held March 18-21 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Franklin College, the Indiana Sports Corporation, and the IU Natatorium will serve as hosts.
