MIAC announces 2025-26 Swimming & Diving All-Conference awards

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its annual Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving All-Conference awards on Monday.
 
The top three finishers in each event at the 2026 MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships received All-Conference honors, while individual finishers 4-6 and the fourth-place relay team earned honorable mention distinction. The conference also announced its individual award recipients for Men's and Women's Swimmers, Divers, Rookies, and Head Coaches of the Year.
 
Saint John's senior Brayden Slavik and Carleton senior Hans Anderson were named MIAC Men's Swimmer and Men's Diver of the Year for the second consecutive season, while Gustavus first-year Aidynn Havermann was voted MIAC Rookie of the Year, and Gustie head coach Jon Carlson was selected as the MIAC Coach of the Year for Men's Swimming & Diving.
 
Saint Benedict junior Haley Zelen and Carleton sophomore Nina Schwab received MIAC Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Year honors, with Gustavus first-year Annika Beck being selected MIAC Rookie of the Year and Saint Benedict head coach Mandy Wolvert being voted MIAC Coach of the Year for Women's Swimming & Diving.
 
Anderson (Sr. / Watertown, Minn. / Watertown-Mayer) received Men's Diver of the Year honors after sweeping the 1- and 3-meter competitions for the second consecutive season. Anderson scored 448.50 points off the 3-meter board and totaled 446.10 points off the 1-meter. He is the sixth competitor since 2002 to earn MIAC Men's Diver of the Year honors more than once.
 
Beck (Fy. / Stillwater, Minn. / Stillwater) was voted MIAC Rookie of the Year for Women's Swimming & Diving by conference coaches. Beck earned conference titles in the women's 500 (5:06.82) and 1650 (17:37.69) freestyle events and was the MIAC runner-up in the 400 IM (4:35.46). She is the third consecutive Gustie to win Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Year honors.
 
Havermann (Fy. / Cottage Grove, Minn. / East Ridge) was voted MIAC Rookie of the Year for Men's Swimming & Diving by conference coaches. Havermann won the 200 IM (1:2.80) and was the runner-up in both the 200 back (1:51.64) and 400 IM (4:04.82). He also swam the final leg of the Gusties' victorious 800 freestyle relay squad that finished in 6:50.13. Havermann is the third consecutive Gustie to win MIAC Rookie of the Year honors for men's swimming & diving.
 
Schwab (So. / Piedmont, Calif. / Piedmont) earned Women's Diver of the Year honors for a second consecutive season after sweeping the 1- and 3-meter competitions. Schwab set a new meet record in the women's 1-meter diving competition with a six-dive finals score of 483.15. She went on to score 519.85 points off the 3-meter board to become the sixth women's diver in recorded MIAC history to receive multiple Diver of the Year honors.
 
Slavik (Sr. / Green Isle, Minn. / Chaska) was named Men's Swimmer of the Year for a second consecutive season after winning his second consecutive conference title in the 500 freestyle, and his third in a row in both the 400 IM and the 1650 free. He also swam on three All-MIAC relay teams. Slavik saved his best performance for last, setting new MIAC, meet, and program records in the mile with a time of 15:32.16. He is the ninth swimmer to receive multiple MIAC Men's Swimmer of the Year honors since 2002.
 
Zelen (Jr. / Shakopee, Minn. / Shakopee) received Women's Swimmer of the Year honors in her MIAC Championship debut. Zelen won the 50 and 100 freestyles, as well as the 100 butterfly. She was also part of three championship relays and one runner-up squad. Her time of 54.10 in the 100 fly set new MIAC, meet, and program records, and currently ranks second in NCAA Division III this season. Zelen is the first CSB athlete in history to be named MIAC Swimmer of the Year.
 
Carlson (36th season) received Men's Coach of the Year honors for the eighth time since 2002 after leading the Gustavus men to the program's seventh consecutive conference title. The Gusties earned eight individual championships and swept the relay crowns on their way to a 324.5-point margin of victory. Carlson is now a 13-time MIAC Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year recipient with eight selections as a men's coach and five as a women's coach, in addition to eleven such honors as the head women's tennis coach at Gustavus.
 
Wolvert (seventh season) was voted Women's Coach of the Year for the first time in her career after leading Saint Benedict to its most impressive conference championship performance in more than a quarter-century. The Bennies racked up ten All-MIAC performances – the most by a CSB squad since 2000 – and earned eight event titles for the program's highest first-place total since the 1998 conference championships. Wolvert is now the first CSB head coach in program history to be named MIAC Women's Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year.
