Cobbers' Roeske named USTFCCCA North Region Coach of the Year

NEW ORLEANS -- Concordia head women's indoor track & field coach Marv Roeske was selected as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) North Region Coach of the Year for Women's Indoor Track & Field last week.

Roeske earned the Region Coach of the Year honor for the third time overall in his career, and the second time for indoor track & field. He was previously named the USTFCCA Central Region Outdoor Coach of the Year in 2004 and received Indoor Coach of the Year honors in 1998.

Roeske led Concordia to its first MIAC Indoor Championship since 1999 at the recently-completed MIAC meet. The Cobbers only had three event wins during the two days but collected numerous top-five finishes to claim the team title.

In addition to the team championship, Roeske guided athletes to six different individual All-Conference honors and three All-MIAC relay performances. The Cobbers also had 11 All-Conference Honorable Mention award winners.
