BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Tennis Playoffs got underway with a pair of quarterfinal matches on Tuesday afternoon. No. 3 Bethel defeated No. 6 Hamline, 4-0, while No. 4 St. Catherine topped No. 5 Macalester, 4-1, to move on to Thursday's semifinal round.

No. 3 Bethel defeated No. 6 Hamline by a 4-0 margin on Tuesday afternoon to punch its ticket to the semifinals for the ninth consecutive postseason. The Royals picked up wins at the first and third doubles spots before locking down victories at the top two singles positions. Malia McKinnon's 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles clinched the win.

The Royals will head to Northfield on Thursday for a matchup against No. 2 Carleton. The Knights earned a 5-2 win in the regular season meeting on April 10 and hold a 3-0 advantage over Bethel all-time in the MIAC Playoffs. This will be the second straight postseason that the Knights will host the Royals in the conference semifinals. Match time for Thursday's contest is tentatively scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on the Pat Lamb Tennis Courts at Carleton.

NO. 4 ST. CATHERINE 4, NO. 5 MACALESTER 1 | BOX SCORE |
St. Catherine earned a berth in the MIAC semifinals for the second time in the last three seasons with a 4-1 victory over Macalester on Tuesday. The Wildcats won at the second and third doubles positions before claiming singles wins at the fourth, fifth, and sixth spots. Melanie Gravdahl secured the SCU win with a 6-1, 7-5 decision at No. 6 singles. Elizabeth Trevathan earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles to pick up a point for the Scots.

With the victory, the Wildcats are set for a semifinal matchup with top-seeded Gustavus on Thursday afternoon. The Gusties won the regular season contest with St. Catherine, 7-0, on April 12. This will be the first-ever postseason match between the two programs. The start time is tentatively set for 3:30 p.m. in St. Peter on Thursday.

The two semifinal winners will meet Saturday on the home court of the highest remaining seed to determine the 2026 MIAC Women's Tennis Playoff Champion. Match dates, times, and locations are subject to change due to weather.
