Men's Basketball 9/17/2026 1:00:00 PM Michael Abdella, St. Olaf Assistant AD for Strategic Communications St. Olaf men's basketball to play St. Thomas in Jan. 2 exhibition NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's basketball team will visit the NCAA Division I University of St. Thomas for an exhibition game on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2027, as announced on Thursday. Tip-off between the Oles and Tommies in the midseason exhibition is set for 2 p.m. at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena. The game will be the first between the two programs since Feb. 19, 2020, when St. Thomas was a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). St. Olaf's last game against NCAA Division I opposition was a 71-55 loss to the University of Minnesota in an exhibition on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022 at Williams Arena. The Oles led for nearly 11 minutes in the opening half, were tied at 31-31 and halftime, and were down by just six with 4:36 remaining before the Golden Gophers went on a 13-0 run late on. St. Olaf's first official game under first-year head coach John Cheng will be against UW-Superior at the NBC Tip-Off Classic in Superior, Wis. at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.
