MIAC Athletes of the Week - November 11, 2025

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for swimming & diving on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Carleton, Saint Benedict, and Saint John's claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
 
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Transitioning into the winter season, team sports (football, basketball, and hockey) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming & diving) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week

Brayden Slavik led the Johnnies with three individual wins, which included breaking a 35-year-old, pool-record time with a victory at 16:14.22 in the 1,650-yard freestyle in a dual loss at UW-La Crosse on 11/8. Slavik also took first in the 400-yard individual medley (4:13.49) and 500-yard freestyle (4:54.21). His 1,650-free time currently ranks first in the MIAC, fifth in NCAA Division III, and 71st among all collegiate swimmers this season. His 400-IM time sits atop the MIAC this season as well. Slavik was also a member of SJU's 200-yard freestyle relay team, which took second place (1:29.29).
 
MIAC Men's Diving Athlete of the Week

Hans Anderson won both the 1-meter (272.75) and 3-meter (319.40) competitions during the Knights' dual meet victory over Macalester on 11/8. The performance secured his second NCAA Diving Regional qualifying score of the season.
 
MIAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week

Haley Zelen won three individual events in the Bennies' dual meet loss to UW-La Crosse on 11/8. She won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.91, securing the third-fastest time in program history for the event, before winning the 100 freestyle in 53.00, and lowering her program record in the 100 fly for the fifth consecutive meet with a time of 56.33. Zelen also helped the CSB 400-medley relay team to a runner-up finish in 4:09.94.
 
MIAC Women's Diving Athlete of the Week

Nina Schwab won both the 1-meter (283.35) and 3-meter (301.95) boards to help the Knights defeat Macalester in a dual meet on 11/8. Schwab's performance earned her the second of two required scores to qualify for the NCAA Diving Regional in February.
