MIAC Athletes of the Week - December 8, 2025

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for basketball and hockey on Monday. Student-athletes from Hamline, Saint Benedict, Saint Mary's, and St. Olaf claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
 
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the winter season, team sports (basketball and hockey) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming & diving) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Kobe Kirk

Kobe Kirk scored a season-high 27 points to lead the Oles to a 77-69 win at Saint John's on 12/3. Kirk shot 9-for-19 from the field, 4-for-8 from three-point range, and 5-for-6 at the charity stripe to lead the Oles to their first win in Collegeville since 2014.
 
MIAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week

Brendan Ebel collected 15 rebounds, four steals, and three blocked shots in a split week for the Pipers. Ebel recorded 11 boards with three steals and three blocks on the defensive end of the court in Hamline's 94-84 conference win over Macalester on 12/6. He also scored 25 points in the win. He added four rebounds and a steal in a five-point loss to Gustavus on 12/3.

Brianna Nusbaum powered the Cardinals' offense to wins over Carleton (12/3) and Gustavus (12/6). Nusbaum posted 21 points in a 64-48 win over the Knights on 12/3 before pouring in 24 points in the Cardinals' 83-73 double overtime upset of Gustavus on 12/6. Nusbaum forced OT with a clutch three-pointer with less than a minute to play in regulation to help the Cardinals improve to 7-1 on the year, securing the program's best start to a season in a decade.
 
MIAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Elise Hahn

Elise Hahn averaged 16.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, and 3.0 steals per game while posting double-doubles in both of the Oles' games last week. Hahn logged 16 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in a win over Crown on 12/2 before matching her career-high totals in rebounds (17) and blocks (5) while adding three more steals in a road loss to Augsburg on 12/6.

Nikolai Dulak tallied his first points of the season in the Pipers' sweep of St. Scholastica over the weekend. Dulak scored in the second period of Hamline's 4-3 home win over the Saints on 12/5 before registering a go-ahead goal in the first frame and an insurance goal in the third at St. Scholastica on 12/6. He was also credited with an assist on the game's opening score just over a minute into play.

Adam Prokop stopped a combined 80 shots in the Cardinals' series split with Concordia over the weekend. Prokop - who entered the weekend with a single-game career-high of 30 saves - made 43 stops in a loss to the Cobbers on 12/5 before recording 37 saves in the Cardinals' bounce-back win the following afternoon. Both performances rank among the ten highest single-game save performances in the MIAC this season.

Ashlyn Abrahamson scored the game-winning goals in both of the Pipers' wins against St. Scholastica over the weekend. Abrahamson's first goal gave the Pipers a 3-2 overtime win on 12/5, while her second score was the difference-maker ahead of an empty-net insurance goal in a 4-2 win on 12/6. Abrahamson also assisted on both of the Pipers' regulation goals in the team's road victory on 12/5.

Lexi Badali recorded 41 saves in a 1-1 tie and stopped every attempt in the shootout to give the Bennies an extra point in the conference standings following their matchup with Bethel on 12/5. She added 16 more saves in another draw with the Royals on 12/6. Badali's 41-save performance is a career-best and the second-highest single-game save total by a conference goaltender in women's hockey this season.
