BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners for swimming & diving and indoor track & field on Tuesday. Student-athletes from Bethel, Carleton, Concordia, Gustavus, Macalester, and St. Scholastica claimed the Conference's weekly honors.
The MIAC Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by the Conference's sports information directors and selected by MIAC staff. Throughout the winter season, team sports (basketball, hockey, and tennis) Athletes of the Week will be recognized on Monday afternoons, with individual sports (swimming & diving and indoor track & field) announced on Tuesday afternoons. The winners of the latest Athlete of the Week awards are listed below, along with details on their outstanding performances.

MIAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week

Peyton Richardson led the Gusties with a trio of top Division III times at the Minnesota First Chance Meet on 2/7-8. Richardson posted the fastest D-III times of the meet in the 100 butterfly (51.08), 200 IM (1:58.32), and 200 butterfly (1:56.63). His 200 freestyle time of 1:45.71 was also the second-fastest D-III time of the weekend.

Hans Anderson posted an NCAA qualifying score with a total of 469.50 points to win the 3-meter, 11-dive competition at the Dodd Road Diving Invite on 2/8. Anderson surpassed the national qualifying standard by more than 29 points.

Izzy Uhlhorn-Thornton was the top Division III finisher in two of her three individual events at the University of Minnesota's First Chance Meet on 2/7-8. Uhlhorn-Thornton swam the 100-breaststroke in 1:06.95, the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:26.82, and the 400-yard individual medley in 4:47.29. Both of her breaststroke times rank second in the MIAC this season, with her 200 time being good for a third-place finish overall at the meet.

Gabriella Stoudt led the Gusties at the Dodd Road Diving Invite on 2/8, finishing with the top 11-dive score of 392.55 in the 1-meter competition. Stoudt also placed second in the 11 dives off the 3-meter board with a score of 342.40.

Jacob Parent won the 200-meter dash at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational on 2/8 in a conference-best time of 21.79. The mark ranks sixth-fastest in NCAA Division III this season. Parent then helped the Royals' 4x400-meter relay to a second-place finish with the nation's second-fastest time of 3:16.26.

Trent Beseth set a program record with a shot put of 17.57 meters (57' 7.75") at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational on 2/8. The distance is tied for second-longest in NCAA Division III this season. Beseth also competed in the weight throw, recording a toss of 15.59 meters (51' 1.75").

Kyla Nygaard broke a program record for the second consecutive weekend by surpassing the school's 300-meter mark that had stood for nearly four decades. Nygaard ran the 300 in 41.06 at the Bison Open on 2/8, clocking the fastest time in the MIAC and besting the previous program record set in 1986 by 0.55 of a second. Nygaard's 600-meter time of 1:34.33 also set a new program mark while her 400 time of 58.98 is No. 7 on the Concordia all-time list.

Alli Graff won the pole vault at the Meet of the Hearts on 2/8 with a mark of 3.47 meters (11' 4.5"). The clearance leads the MIAC and ranks 43rd in NCAA Division III this season. It is the sixth-best vault in program history.
