BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The NCAA postseason continues this week for Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) programs with the start of the Softball, Baseball, and Men's Golf Championships. Selections for the NCAA Women's Golf Championships and individual tennis championship have also been announced, with Outdoor Track & Field selections coming later in the week.
Softball
After winning the MIAC Softball Playoffs for the first time in program history, Saint Benedict (33-9) clinched the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament. The Bennies will head to Indianola, Iowa, for a four-team, double-elimination regional hosted by American Rivers Conference champion Simpson (34-5). CSB will open the regional at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, against at-large berth Central (29-12). The winner of that game will play against at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, while the loser will play in an elimination game at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Simpson and Greenville (31-11) will open the tournament at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
MIAC runner-up Saint Mary's (36-6) is also back in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season after receiving the first of 22 available at-large bids. The Cardinals were selected to host a four-team regional in Winona later this week. SMU will take on WIAC tournament champion UW-Stevens Point (30-13) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, with at-large bid recipient Calvin (30-13) set to take on UMAC champ Bethany Lutheran (32-9) at 1:30 p.m. The two winners will then square off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, with the two losing teams matching up in an elimination game at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. A second elimination game will be played at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and the regional championship will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16.
The regional champions will move on to the best-of-three Super Regionals next week. The eight teams to emerge from the Super Regionals will head to Moyer Sports Park in Salem, Virginia, for the 2026 Division III Women's College World Series, set to be played from Thursday, May 28, through Wednesday, June 3.

Baseball
Macalester (29-15) punched its ticket back to the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament for the first time since 2017 on Saturday night with a Game 7 victory in the MIAC Playoff Championship. The Scots will head east to Whitewater, Wisconsin, for a four-team, double-elimination regional hosted by WIAC champion UW-Whitewater (41-4). The Scots will take on the host Warhawks in the opening game of the regional at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, while UMAC champion Bethany Lutheran (31-6) will take on at-large bid recipient Luther (33-11) in the 2:30 p.m. game. The two losing teams will meet in an elimination game at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, with the two winners marked to square off at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon. A second elimination game will be played at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and the regional championship will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17.
The regional champions will move on to the best-of-three Super Regionals next week. The eight teams to emerge from the Super Regionals will head to Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake, Ohio, for the 2026 Division III College World Series, set to be played from Friday, May 29, through Thursday, June 4.
Luther – ranked No. 46 in the final NCAA Power Index – received the last at-large bid to the Tournament. MIAC regular-season champion Bethel (29-10) finished out the year at No. 54 in the NPI.

Men's Golf
Bethel and Gustavus have been selected to participate in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on May 12-15 at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The MIAC champion Royals were among the 34 automatic qualifiers to the 43-team field, while the Gusties received one of nine at-large bids. Ten individual competitors were also selected from the remaining players who did not qualify with a team, for a total of 225 players.
Oglethorpe University and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will host the 2026 Championships. The team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes of play or the conclusion of the last fully completed round. First and second round competition will be played simultaneously on El Campeon and Las Colinas courses, with the final two rounds played on El Campeon. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams.

Women's Golf
MIAC champion Carleton will represent the conference at the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships as one of 26 automatic qualifiers to the tournament. This will be the sixth time in program history that the Knights will compete as a team at the NCAA Championships. Though Carleton senior Carter Sichol competed at the 2024 and 2025 NCAA Championships as an individual invitee, this will be the first time the full Carleton lineup will compete at nationals since 2023. In addition to the 26 conference champions that received automatic bids to the national championships, eight programs received at-large invitations for a 34-team field. Six individual competitors were also selected from the remaining players who did not qualify with a team, for a total of 176 players.
The championship will begin on Tuesday, May 19, and continue through Friday, May 22, at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California. The event will consist of both team and individual competition play over 72 holes. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and the top six individuals not on advancing teams. In the team competition, the lowest four scores for each school will count in the day's total score.

Women's Tennis
MIAC champion Gustavus (30-5) concluded its season in the Sweet 16 on Sunday, falling to No. 2-ranked UChicago (17-4) in the regional championship, 4-0. The Gusties had a bye to the regional semifinals on Saturday, where they took down No. 28 UW-La Crosse (21-2), also by a 4-0 margin.
Despite the loss, the MIAC will still be represented at the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships, as the NCAA announced its selections for the individual championships last week. Bethel senior Lauryn Douglas and Gustavus sophomore Karina Elvestrom were among 32 players selected for the Women's Singles Championships, while Gustavus junior Kaya De Bruijn was named the sixth alternate for the event. Douglas and doubles partner Michaella Sullivan were also among the 16 tandems to qualify for the Women's Doubles Championships. Elvestrom and De Bruijn are slotted as second alternates for the Doubles Championships.
Selection for the NCAA Tennis Individual Championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule, and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. The NCAA individual championships will be May 23-26, at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and hosted by the University of the South and the City of Chattanooga.

Men's Tennis
Gustavus (20-9) saw its season come to an end in the regional semifinals of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships with a 4-1 loss to No. 10 Kenyon (21-4) in Chicago on Friday. The MIAC champion Gusties topped Greenville (20-6), 4-0, in the opening round last Thursday. UChicago (19-3) emerged as the regional champion, as the nation's top-ranked team defeated Kenyon, 4-1, on Saturday.
A trio of Gusties will still represent their program and the MIAC at the national championship site later this month, as Gustavus teammates Gage Gohl and Dominik Knutson qualified to compete in the NCAA Division III Men's Singles Championships, with Gohl and doubles partner Tyler Haddorff earning an invitation to the Doubles Championships. Gohl and Haddorff won the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Doubles Championship together in 2024.
Selection for the NCAA Tennis Individual Championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule, and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. Outdoor Track & Field
The 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held from May 21-23, 2026, at Veterans' Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Selections will be revealed on Friday, May 15, via a press release on NCAA.com.
MIAC teams will compete in final qualifying meets hosted by St. Olaf (5/13-14), Augustana (5/13-14), and UW-La Crosse (5/14) this week to cement qualifying marks for the national championships.
