MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships get underway in Northfield

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships got underway on Friday with an action-packed afternoon of preliminary and final events on the campus of St. Olaf College.

Heading into Saturday, Saint John's has 64 points to lead the pack in the men's standings. The Johnnies currently hold a 14-point lead over second-place St. Olaf.

Concordia enters Saturday's finale with a 47-point cushion in the women's team standings. The Cobbers have amassed 105 points through the first eight scored events. St. Olaf currently occupies second place with 58 points.

Finals in all remaining events will be conducted on Saturday afternoon. Events are scheduled to begin at noon with the last set of events - the women's and men's 4x400 relay - running at 5:10 and 5:25 p.m., respectively.

FOLLOW THE ACTION
Daily tickets are required to attend the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. All tickets will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at the venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device at any time, including while at the venue. Tickets are available for purchase on the MIAC's HomeTown Ticketing site.
 
Single-day adult tickets will be $13, and student tickets are $4. (Note: additional HomeTown Ticketing convenience and credit card fees will be added during checkout, with estimated totals being $13.70 for adult / $4.43 for student per single-day ticket.) Children ages five and under do not require a ticket. Those eligible for student tickets include individuals currently enrolled in college, high school, middle school, and elementary school. Student ID is required where applicable.
 
Spectators traveling to Northfield are encouraged to review the campus parking map. Primary parking will be in the Lower Lincoln lot, with overflow parking in the grass at the bottom of Old Main Hill. Concessions will be available for purchase near Porter Hall on the west end of the track.
 
Fans unable to attend in person will be able to follow the action with live updates via Hero's Timing. Select events will also be streamed live on the MIAC Sports Network. A full slate of links and information is available on the championship home page.

HANDING OUT THE HARDWARE
MIAC championship trophies will be presented to the first-place women's and men's teams at the conclusion of the meet on Saturday afternoon. Bethel has been crowned the men's outdoor track & field champion each of the last two seasons, while Gustavus has won three of the last four women's titles. 

Individual awards will be voted on by coaches following the meet and will be announced, along with the complete list of All-Conference and honorable mention recipients, next week. The top three finishers in each event automatically earn All-Conference honors, and the 4th-through-6th place finishers receive Honorable Mention distinction. All-Conference honorees from Friday and last week's multi-event championships are listed below.
