Gusties take home MIAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field title

ST. PAUL, Minn. – For the third time in the last four seasons, Gustavus has won the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) women's outdoor track & field championship.

The Gusties totaled 170.5 points to claim the conference title. Concordia placed second with 140 points, followed by Bethel in third with 131.5. St. Olaf was fourth with 118 points, followed by Saint Benedict (102.5), Macalester (57), Carleton (52), Saint Mary's (40), St. Scholastica (18.5), Hamline (17), and Augsburg (11).

Among the highlights of the meet was the 400-meter final that saw the top three finishers - Gustavus' Megan Geraets, Macalester's Ariella Rogahn-Press, and Bethel's Shalom Sulungaine - cross the line faster than any woman in MIAC history before them at 53.87, 53.89, and 54.95, respectively. Geraets and Rogahn-Press went 1-2 at the MIAC Championships and now rank 1-2 on the NCAA Division III performance list as well. Bethel's 4x400-meter relay team also finished with a new meet mark, crossing the finish line in 3:49.64.
