Gustavus set a new meet record in the men's 200 medley relay to open the 2026 conference championships. Swimming & Diving 2/11/2026 9:30:00 PM MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships underway in Minneapolis MINNEAPOLIS – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Swimming & Diving Championships got underway at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Wednesday night. After a preliminary round of the men's 3-meter diving competition, MIAC men's and women's teams got down to business with the finals of the 200-yard medley relays and 800-yard freestyle relays, as well as the championship round of the men's 3-meter dive. The meet got off to a hot start, as the Gustavus men's 200-yard medley squad set a new championship record with a winning time of 1:30.28. The Gusties also won the men's 800-yard freestyle relay in 6:50.13. Saint Benedict claimed victory in the women's 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.45, while Gustavus won the women's 800 freestyle relay in 7:43.68. In the lone individual event of the evening, Carleton's Hans Anderson successfully defended his conference title in the men's 3-meter diving competition with a finals score of 448.50. Heading into prelims on Thursday, Saint John's leads the men's team standings with 107 points, and Gustavus holds the top spot in the women's team standings with 70 points. Following each of Wednesday evening's competitions, a short awards ceremony was held. The top three finishers in each event earned All-Conference honors, while individual finishers 4-6 and the fourth-place relay team earned honorable mention distinction. Children ages five and under do not require a ticket. Those eligible for student tickets include individuals currently enrolled in college, high school, middle school, and elementary school. Student ID is required where applicable. Single-session tickets are also available for purchase online only. Single-session adult tickets are $12 each, while student tickets are $6. As a reminder, glass is strictly prohibited inside the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. Please do not bring any glass water bottles or vases into the venue. QR codes will be posted at the venue for fans to scan as needed, and links will be updated with the latest information as soon as it is determined after each session. The online MIAC Shop features officially licensed short-sleeve t-shirts, long-sleeve t-shirts, and hooded sweatshirts to commemorate the 2026 conference championship meet.
