MIAC Men’s Basketball Playoff field set

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2025-26 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) men's basketball regular season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, officially setting the tournament field for next week's MIAC Men's Basketball Playoffs.
 
The Playoffs will once again run through St. Peter, as Gustavus (15-1) locked up the No. 1 seed and its second consecutive regular season title earlier in the week. The Gusties will have a bye to the semifinal round and will host the lowest remaining seed on Thursday, February 26, at 8:00 p.m., following the Gustavus women's basketball semifinal game at 5:00 p.m.
 
Saint John's (11-5) emerged from a four-team tie for second-place in the regular season standings to secure the No. 2 seed. Illustrating how close the final standings ended up, the Johnnies' 81-79 victory over Augsburg on Saturday catapulted SJU from playing a quarterfinal game on the road as the No. 5 seed to securing a first-round bye and a home game in the semifinals as the No. 2. Saint John's will await the highest remaining seed in the semifinals on Thursday, February 26. Tip-off will be set for 7:00 p.m. in Collegeville.
 
St. Olaf (11-5) will be the No. 3 seed and host No. 6 Augsburg (9-7) on Tuesday, February 24. The Auggies swept the Oles in a pair of regular-season games earlier this year. Tip-off for the quarterfinal contest is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Northfield.
 
No. 4 Concordia (11-5) will host No. 5 Carleton (11-5) in the quarterfinal round. The two squads split their regular-season series, with each team successfully defending its home court. Tip-off for the rubber match is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24.
 
Tuesday's two quarterfinal winners will advance to Thursday's semifinals, where No. 1 Gustavus and No. 2 Saint John's will host. The bracket will re-seed following the first round, matching up the lowest remaining seed against the top-seeded Gusties, while the Johnnies will welcome the higher seed.
 
The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, February 28, in the 2026 MIAC Men's Basketball Playoff championship game. The game is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the postseason championship trophy and the Conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.
 
Tickets for the quarterfinal games will go on sale Saturday night. Tickets for the semifinals will go on sale after the quarterfinals are complete on Tuesday night. All tickets will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at any venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device, including while at the venue. Playoff tickets will go on sale after the regular season has concluded. General admission adult tickets are $12 (plus HTT service charge). Student (with ID) tickets are $3 (plus HTT service charge), and children ages five and under are admitted free.
 
The 2026 MIAC Men's Basketball Playoffs will be streamed live on the MIAC Sports Network in a pay-per-view format. Individual playoff contests will be streamed for $10 each, or $25 for a "championship pass" to stream the entire tournament live. On-demand access to playoff games will be available after the NCAA Tournament concludes.

Official playoff apparel will be available for online purchase via the MIAC Shop powered by UNRestricted MKTG. The online MIAC Shop features officially licensed short-sleeve t-shirts, long-sleeves, and hooded sweatshirts to commemorate the 2026 playoff tournament. Team champion apparel will be added and available for purchase shortly after the championship game.
 
The MIAC has a homepage dedicated to the 2026 MIAC Men's Basketball Playoffs, containing schedules, links, and information on each of the six teams in the field. Throughout the tournament, the page will be updated with scores, stats, and updated schedules.
