BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Basketball Playoffs got underway with a pair of quarterfinal contests on Tuesday night.

No. 4 Concordia pulled away from No. 5 Carleton, 74-52, while No. 6 Augsburg knocked down a pair of free throws with four seconds left in regulation to upset No. 3 St. Olaf, 69-68.

The Cobbers will take on No. 2 Saint John's in the semifinals on Thursday, while Augsburg will square off with regular-season champion Gustavus. Tip-offs are set for 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., respectively.

-Augsburg first-year guard JJ Semanko scored a game-high 25 points, but none were bigger than the two free throws he drained with four seconds left to play. Semanko scored 21 points in the second half and seven points in the final minute of regulation. He also came away with a critical rebound on an Ole miss with ten seconds left on the clock.
-St. Olaf never trailed in the first half, but the game saw five second-half lead changes.
-Senior Kobe Kirk scored 20 points to lead the Oles. Kirk added two steals and a pair of blocked shots on the defensive end.
-Augsburg will take on top-seeded Gustavus at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday in the semifinals. The Gusties won the regular season matchup, 101-88, in Minneapolis on January 24.

-Concordia picked up its first MIAC Playoff win since 2004 after outscoring Carleton 52-18 in the paint.
-The Cobbers got a combined 46 points and 29 rebounds from post players Jacob Cook and Jackson Loge. Cook logged a 26-point, 14-rebound double-double, while Loge scored 20 and collected 15 boards.
-Carleton guard Matt Drake scored nine of his team-high 13 points on long balls. Drake also secured a team-best four rebounds in the game.
-Concordia will take on No. 2 Saint John's in the semifinal round. The two teams traded wins in the regular season, with each squad successfully defending its home court.

The winners of Thursday's semifinal contests will meet on Saturday, February 28, in the 2026 MIAC Men's Basketball Playoff championship game. The game is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the postseason championship trophy and the Conference's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.

Tickets for Thursday's semifinal games are on sale now. All tickets will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at any venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device, including while at the venue. General admission adult tickets are $12 (plus HTT service charge). Student (with ID) tickets are $3 (plus HTT service charge), and children ages five and under are admitted free.

The 2026 MIAC Men's Basketball Playoffs will be streamed live on the MIAC Sports Network in a pay-per-view format. Individual playoff contests will be streamed for $10 each, or $25 for a "championship pass" to stream the entire tournament live.
